VP Robredo to launch "Istorya ng Pag-asa"

March 11, 2017

Moving stories of the people of Baguio City and nearby provinces may just inspire the entire nation.

Through the efforts of the Office of Councilor Mylen Yaranon, on March 11, 2017, 2 PM at the University of the Cordilleras Theater, Vice President Leni Robredo will collect stories to be included in "Istorya ng Pag-asa" - a compilation of uplifting life stories of Filipinos with the objective of injecting positivity in our day to day discourse.

She cites the youth's sentiments on the country's daily online and offline conversations that are teeming with hate and negativity in starting this project.

"Istorya ng Pag-Asa (Story of Hope) is borne out of this need to change the national conversation," said Robredo in an earlier interview with Rappler.

Soon to be compiled in a book, this project seeks to highlight the success stories of ordinary Filipinos to usher in a new sense of hope for the nation amidst intense political discussions.

"Light can come from ordinary people doing extraordinary things," she concluded.

This activity is open to the public.
