Circulation Policies
- Borrowing Requirement, Check out Limits, Loan Periods, and Overdue Fine of Library Materials
- Borrowing of iPad
- Only currently enrolled students and employees of UC are allowed to borrow an iPad. The borrower shall present his/her valid UC I.D.
- The iPad shall be used for academic purposes only.
- The iPad is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to its availability.
- Only one iPad can be checked out at a time. Under no circumstances will the borrower be allowed to check out an iPad for another person.
- The use of iPad is limited to one (1) hour in a day per patron.
- The iPad borrowed must be returned personally to the Media Center.
- The borrower is accountable for any damage to and/or loss of borrowed iPad unit. The Logistics Management Office (LMO) policies on lost/damaged equipment shall apply.
- Any problem experienced with the iPad during its use must be reported immediately to the library personnel.
- Installation of other applications in the iPad and changing its settings are prohibited.
- Storing of files or logins in the iPad is discouraged. The library does not assume any responsibility for files stored and deleted after the unit has been returned.
- Using the iPad for any illegal purposes like engaging in any offensive or intimidating activity; viewing or displaying obscene images/ videos; or violating copyright laws shall be subjected to appropriate disciplinary action as follows:
First offense | Oral warning |
Second offense | Denial of iPad use for one week |
Third offense | Denial of iPad use for one month |
- Access to Computer Workstations
- The library patron shall present his/her valid I.D. before accessing the computer workstation.
- The computer workstation shall be used for academic purposes only.
- The computer workstation is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to its availability.
- Access to the computer workstation is limited to one (1) hour in a day per patron.
- Using external storage (i.e. Flash drive) is not permitted. The library patron may save his/her files through e-mail or social networking accounts. Furthermore, files saved in the computer workstation shall be deleted.
- Learning how to use the computer applications is the patron’s responsibility. If help is needed, the library personnel may assist the patron in using the resources.
- Respecting the intellectual property rights is expected from the patron. Use only authorized copies of copyrighted or licensed software or data residing in the computer workstations.
- Installation of other applications in the computer workstations and changing its settings are prohibited.
- Using the computer workstation for any illegal purposes like engaging in any offensive or intimidating activity; viewing or displaying obscene images/ videos; or violating copyright laws shall be subjected to appropriate disciplinary action as follows:

- Reserving, Borrowing, and Returning of AV Equipment
- Only currently enrolled students and employees of UC are allowed to reserve and borrow AV equipment. The borrower shall present his/her valid UC I.D.
- AV equipment shall be used for academic purposes only.
- Reservation and borrowing of AV equipment is on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to its availability.
- Reservation of AV equipment may be allowed for a maximum of two (2) consecutive class days.
- In case of cancellation of reservation or changes in the schedule, the borrower shall inform personally or through phone call the Media Center personnel.
- The borrower shall get the equipment from Media Center on the scheduled day/time and return the same after the scheduled use. Karaoke/sound system shall be delivered.
- AV equipment borrowed beyond library service hours shall be returned not later than 8:30AM of the next class day.
- The borrower is accountable for any loss of or damage to any equipment borrowed, whether intentional or accidental. The Logistics Management Office (LMO) policies on lost/damaged equipment shall apply.
- AV equipment is primarily for use within the campus. However, in case the equipment is needed for an off-campus activity, the borrower shall secure a Gate Pass from the Logistics Management Office.
- Borrowing of AV equipment is no longer allowed once the account/ clearance slips of students/faculty are cleared by the Chief Librarian.
- Replacement of Lost/Damaged Library Material
It is the accountability of the borrower to replace the lost/damaged library material, whether intentional or accidental, subject to Library policies.
- Clearance from Library
- A Notification Slip may be issued to remind students/ employees of their library accountabilities.
- Students/ employees shall be cleared from the library only when the borrowed library materials are returned or the accountabilities are settled.
- Interlibrary Research
- An interlibrary research fee of Php100.00 per visit shall be charged to the interlibrary user who likes to avail of the UC Libraries resources and services.
- The Notice for Payment is issued to the interlibrary user and he/she shall pay to the Cashier.
