The College of Teacher Education (CTE) in collaboration with the Research and Development Center (R&DC) organized a research capacity-building seminarworkshop on November 10, 2012 at the University of the Cordilleras.

A research of the faculty members of the University of the Cordilleras qualified in the regional competition of the Search for Best Research and Publication (REPUBLICA) Awards 2009. The REPUBLICA Awards is organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). It is offered every two years to reward and recognize outstanding research outputs leading to significant advances in priority disciplines and contributing to national development.
The University of the Cordilleras' Board of Trustees has appointed a vice-president for research, development and special projects in the person of molecular biologist and geneticist Dr. Ruben Castillo Umaly.
Three faculty members of the University of the Cordilleras presented their research papers during the International Conference on Higher Education Research (ICHER) on April 28-May 1, 2010 at Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. The conference was organized by the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research (PAIR).
