Valentine's Day was auspicious for University of the Cordilleras (UC) students who broke the soil at the Burnham Park Rose Garden to jumpstart the university's latest initiative to enhance the portion of the park with rose blooms and other ornamental plants.
Training and assessment educators from the Australian Trade Training College (ATTC) have begun the process of ushering the first batch of University of the Cordilleras (UC) students enrolled in the joint UC-ATTC degree/diploma/certificate program into their final year of study, ensuring that the students' necessary competence are in place before a mandatory Australian government audit team evaluates their readiness to receive an Australian qualification certificate.
Program accreditation remains an equalizer in the endeavor to ensure quality in the delivery of tertiary level learning by Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) whether they are relatively new in the field or have long established institutional histories.

The UC-ATTC degree and diploma/certificate collaboration, is a partnership between UC and the ATTC, under the auspices of the Global Skills Group, Pty. Ltd., an Australian consultant in the development of educational networking projects. The diploma/certificate programs of the ATTC in Information Technology, Business, Hospitality and Tourism, have been duly integrated and embedded in the UC degree programs, namely,: in UC's Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), in UC's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), in UC's Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) and in UC's Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) degree programs. Thus, in one seamless learning process and time period, the student shall earn two (2) credentials, namely, a degree and a diploma/or a certificate, that, based on a curriculum jointly designed by UC and the ATTC, conforms to the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).

A convoy of five buses and four support vehicles bearing books and personnel motored from Baguio City to Tabuk in the province of Kalinga November 5 for a mass donation of at least 8,779 volumes of books to 54 public and private schools in the Kalinga provincial schools division spearheaded by the University of the Cordilleras (UC) Community Extension and Services Office (CESO) in cooperation with the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), through a book grant from the non-government organization, Children's International Philippines Inc. (CIPI).
