UC inks MOU with Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology

The University of the Cordilleras signed a Memorandum of Understanding with South Korea's Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology (GNTech).

Officials from GNTech led by its president Mr. Kim Nam Kyung met with executive officers of the University of the Cordilleras last January 17, 2018.

Mr. Ahn Byeong Kil, Dean of International Exchange & Language Education Center; Ms. Ko Gyeong Pil, Dean of Student Administration and; Mr. Kim Seong Jung, Head of the President's Office completed the Junji-based university's contigent who were present during the meeting.

The two universities initiated talks on establishing programs such as student and faculty exchange. Mr. Kim Nam Kyung expressed his intent to work out a cultural exchange program between GNTech and UC specifically with UC's Senior High School students.

GNTech adds to the list of UC's international linkages from South Korea which includes Chonbuk National University, Daejin University and Sun Moon University.

BC-BCF-UC Founder Benjamin R. Salvosa and Rodolfo S. Cornejo were contemporary students at the University of the Philippines. Before Cornejo became famous, he was commissioned by the Founder to compose the music for then Baguio Colleges. The University of the Cordilleras (UC) in partnership with Children International Philippines Inc. (CIPI) donated a total of 19,234 books, valued at approximately P7.6M, to 41 public elementary and high schools in Itogon, Benguet and Dagupan City.
