ATTC Courses Embedded into a UC Degree Program

January 09, 2012

The UC-ATTC degree and diploma/certificate collaboration, is a partnership between UC and the ATTC, under the auspices of the Global Skills Group, Pty. Ltd., an Australian consultant in the development of educational networking projects. The diploma/certificate programs of the ATTC in Information Technology, Business, Hospitality and Tourism, have been duly integrated and embedded in the UC degree programs, namely,: in UC's Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), in UC's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), in UC's Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) and in UC's Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) degree programs. Thus, in one seamless learning process and time period, the student shall earn two (2) credentials, namely, a degree and a diploma/or a certificate, that, based on a curriculum jointly designed by UC and the ATTC, conforms to the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).

The ATTC diploma/certificate which the student shall receive upon graduation, shall bear the logo "Nationally Recognised Training (NRT)" signifying the adherence of the program to the standards of the AQF. This Australian Qualification, as signified by the NRT logo, is acknowledged in all the Australian Federated States and in the Australian external territories. The Commonwealth of Nations (formerly the British Commonwealth) also acknowledges the standards represented by the NRT, including Canada, New Zealand, India, Malaysia, Singapore and 54 other member countries.

Together, the UC Bachelor's degree and the Australian Qualification represented in the ATTC diploma or certificate, shall effectively globalize the student's credentials and can thus be projected as such, in his/her individual professional career game plan.

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)

Australia. One Country. One Qualifications System.

The AQF is a standard to which the government of Australia evaluates individual qualifications through a Recognition of prior Learning (RPL). It points to certain levels of qualifications such as "Certificates I, II and III" as well as "Diploma" up to bachelor's and graduate degrees. UC and ATTC's degree-certificate/diploma program, based on the AQF is Australian-government authorized and nationally accredited.

If a student graduates with "Certificate III," he or she is able to perform a range of operations in a broader capacity and exercise discretion and judgment individually and for others. Diploma holders on the other hand are capable of self-directed application of knowledge and skills with substantial depth in some areas where judgment is required in planning and in the technical aspects.

The AQF makes it easy for overseas governments to recognize the qualification that when international employers see it, they will know that it stands for world class education in a modern, democratic and technologically advanced society.
